Each ball is handmade by me and no two are exactly the same. The wool is HOMEGROWN by my own ewes and lambs. The wool was sheared, washed, dyed and carded by hand right here on the farm. No harsh chemicals or rough machines are used to process the wool. It is washed in environmental friendly DISH SOAP gently by hand and the dyes are colourfast acid wash dyes. The acid used to set the dye is simple pickling vinegar Then I wet felted the wool into these balls and finished them off with a needle. The wool did not come from a mill nor is it mill spun and mass produced.They are a minimum 2 1/2 inches across (about the size of a tennis ball see the photo) and made entirely of wool all the way to the core. They can be played with and hand washed. There are no wires or strings so it is safe and soft for a baby and small child. There may be slight imperfections, deviations in size or dimples but that is what makes them uniquely handmade.Wool Dryer Balls, A small investment for a lifetime of scent free, chemical free drying time.These balls are multi talented. -They are an environmentally friendly alternative to dryer sheets. NO scents unless you want to add a little scented oil. They reduce static and wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture so it shortens the drying time. The more you use the shorter the time.-excellent for drying cloth diapers without chemicals-They can be squeezed repeatedly to relieve stress or to exercise an arthritic or injured hand. The wool retains your body heat and is quite soothing.-They make wonderful soft toys for babies and small children.-You can also use them to refresh and remove wrinkles by wetting them, squeezing out the excessand putting them in the dryer with a wrinkled article. It will help to remove the wrinkles.-Speaking of wrinkles, I use them in the shower to exfoliate and they are especially effective but gentle for cleansing and massaging the face. Just be sure to rinse well and dry.They come in a set of 4. I have made them in random ASSORTED COLOURS They are NOT wrapped balls of yarn, wet felted to make them smooth, anyone can do that. Those unravel during use and are soon useless. They are not hollow, felted around a form or tennis ball, they are felted wool right through to the core. These may pill a bit after repeated use and they will become more firm. It does not effect their efficiency and if it bothers you, you can shave the pills off.A warning, cats LOVE them and will steal them whenever they can.
