One package of Ciba dye powder, 1/4 ounce, 2 teaspoons, enough to dye at least 2 pounds clean dry weight (up to 5 pounds) of washed and dry protein fiber except for black which will dye about 1 1/2 pounds of clean and dry washed wool to a dark charcoal or darker. This is Ciba dye. It is the only brand that I use now for myself. Acidwash is easy to use because the acid used is simply vinegar. I have tried many brands for myself and I find that Ciba is the best bang for your buck and the most colourfast when used as instructed. I am offering just 6 basic colours. You can mix many more from these. I can say that 1 tsp (one half of the package) will easily dye one pound of wool or protein fiber to a deep bright hue. The photos show what 1 teaspoon on one pound of wool will look like. I have used much less, even just 1/8 of a teaspoon and still got a lovely colour with the yellow, blue, turquoise and fuchsia. I do recommend that you usea full teaspoon of red per pound and up to 1 1/2 tsp of black (depends on the colour of materials to start) Instructions included. A good way to try your hand at acid wash dyeing without putting out a lot of $ to start. There is no date on the product and I can not guarantee quality since I have no control over the dyer or the method used. I use the very same dye powder out of the same can that this comes from. check out my carded wool for sale. If you follow the instructions included with purchase I am sure you will be happy with the results. I offer this as a sample foryou to try beforeyou go to a big expense. Ifyou like it then they can order Ciba dye in larger quantities from the manufacturer or a larger distributor.
