Imported from India, This fibre is pure A1 silk top.Eri silk is sometimes called peace silk because it is silk that has allowed the caterpillar to morph and emerge as a moth before harvesting the cocoon. In other types the grub is killed before it emerges. This makes the fibre on the cocoon very long but with peace silk you will find that the fibre is shorter due to the fact that the moth had to eat eats way out. It in no way affects the quality of the silk but it does mean that each fibre is shorter than in other rovings and slivers.Excellent for spinning alone or into another roving, plying or you can dye it any colour you want. Silk takes an acid dye beautifully. Look closely at the photos and you can see the beautiful shine.
