Imported from India, I have available a large supply of sari silk waste threads. These are mostly very short (1/2 to 2 inches) and card well into wool to make fuzzy art yarn or in paper making, or spin from a cloud of mixed fibre. Look closely at the photos and you can see the short fiber among the longer ones. It is threads that are left over from making saris but a little different than the long threads of silk waste.Have a look at the photos of some of my yarn made with varying amounts of these threads, no more than 35% per weight of wool, some were only 5%. My personal favourite is the brown that shows a little knitted up. All these skeins were plied with a fine thread to set the silk and make the thread more durable.The bag pictured is 4 by 5 inches and holds 10 grams or 1/3 of an ounce. It doesn't sound like much but it goes a long way.
